After graduation, I never strayed far from the greater Milwaukee area. I attended UW-Madison for 2 years, but found no particular major. I decided to follow in my older sister's footsteps & attend nursing school. I applied & was accepted @ Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. I started there in the fall of '63 & graduated in '66. I stayed on as a staff nurse & went on to a variety of positions including head nurse on the Cardiothoracic unit, Information Systems Nurse Coordinator, Director of Nursing Critical Care & lastly, Associate Hospital Administrator Ambulatory Care. In the early '80s, I decided to go back to school. I finished my bachelors degree in '84 & my masters in '86, both @ Cardinal Stritch University. In the early '90s, efforts began to close the medical complex, which by then was called Doyne Hospital. Over a period of years, Froedtert Hospital & the Medical College of Wisconsin took over parts & in late 1995, Milwaukee County closed the old hospital. I took the early retirement offer, but after some consulting work, vacationing & resting, I decided this wasn't for me yet. Long term care had never entered my mind as a career option, but I was offered & accepted the Director of Nursing position @ Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee. This was one of the most challenging yet rewarding times of my professional life - hated all the regulations, but loved the residents & staff. In 2004, I retired "again" - this time for good. My husband is a retired meat cutter. We've lived in his childhood home in the Walker's Point area of Milwaukee for over 35 years. In my younger days, I played on softball teams & golfed, but my knees have gotten the best of me. We love the Packers, Badgers & Brewers. My husband still golfs all the time & I have picked up a couple hobbies along the way - genealogy (family trees are a constant work in progress) & collecting antique fishing lures. I know it sounds weird, but they really are little works of art. You might find me hanging out @ auctions, yard sales or on ebay. Last, but not least, we have a 3 y/o chocolate lab (Buck) that keeps us hopping. My husband trains him & I am the chief cheerleader as Buck runs in AKC hunt tests. He is now a titled Junior Hunter w/hopefully more titles to come. Can't believe its been almost 50 years! |

Got a second masters in management (MS-M) and became Laboratory Director for the Racine Health Department- serving in that capacity for 19 more years. Retired in'05- did some consulting with the City of Racine and Kenosha County Health Departments for a couple of years.Accepted into the deacon's formation program of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee and was ordained a deacon in '10. Provide a liturgical presence at a parish in Racine- where I serve additionally in a ministry dedicated to the homeless- currently called Bread of Life. Married for the past 18 years to Judy (the love of my life), who continues to work as a Nurse Practitioner for Wheaton Franciscans in Racine. Between us we have 6 children and 4 grandchildren. I still swim regularly and have averaged over 200 miles/year for the past 19 years. Took up painting (acrylics) and am always "working" on something. Do some hunting and occasional fishing- nothing serious. Looking forward to seeing my classmates after a rewarding 50 years. I've been blessed. |

Wow! The journey continues. What fun to be on the committee and get in touch with people or attempt to locate them.I'm still working for a sugar broker and actually enjoy it. My husband Jim is retired and enjoying his free time. We have 2 girls-Darcey and Brian who live in Waukesha and Kari and Frank who live in Winchester, Virginia. They also have our only grandson Brendan who will soon be 2 yrs. old. Great finally being a grandma but difficult due to distance between us. Hope to reconnect with many old friends in August. Till later, Bonnie |

Hi All - Loved the music. First Class Reunion I will be missing and wouldn't you know it would be the 50th!! We have out of state visitors coming that week. We have 2 sons: First son and wife live in Wichita, KS and they have a son (7) and daughter (5). Our second son and wife live in DePere (a little closer in driving distance!) and they have 2 sons (6 and 3). We do a lot of visiting the grandchildren and really enjoy it. Dale and I also do a lot of traveling in our retirement years and loving it. We enjoy cruises, all inclusive resorts and driving trips without any real destination - if we see something we want to spend time at we just stop and stay a few days. Needless to say we put a lot of miles on and I usually have to see a chiropractor when I get home!! Hi to All and will miss you this year. Never give up!!! Jeanne |
