Hi All - Loved the music. First Class Reunion I will be missing and wouldn't you know it would be the 50th!! We have out of state visitors coming that week. We have 2 sons: First son and wife live in Wichita, KS and they have a son (7) and daughter (5). Our second son and wife live in DePere (a little closer in driving distance!) and they have 2 sons (6 and 3). We do a lot of visiting the grandchildren and really enjoy it. Dale and I also do a lot of traveling in our retirement years and loving it. We enjoy cruises, all inclusive resorts and driving trips without any real destination - if we see something we want to spend time at we just stop and stay a few days. Needless to say we put a lot of miles on and I usually have to see a chiropractor when I get home!! Hi to All and will miss you this year. Never give up!!! Jeanne |

I left Waukesha and spent 10 years in the Army and Air Force. After completing two tours in Southeast Asia I decided to leave the service. I joined Bell Helicopter and lived in South America for another 10 years. I returned to the states and remained in the avaiation industry unril retirement. During my employment I worked in Central & South America, Europe, Middle & Far East and the states. My wife Dianne and I raised two children who are both doing well. We have lived in Texas, California, Virginia, Colorado, Florida and Caracas, Venzuela. We have been in Melbourne, Florida for the past 12 years and have no plans to move. I have had a great 50 years and now enjoy cruises, visiting friends and motorcycle trips in the states. |

Comment: Oy! After high school I went to Madison, spent my Junior Year in France and accidentlally got a Masters in French...(a long story). But I didn't really like teaching French and so I got married, got a Ph.D. in French Theatre..(another long story), studied Mime and became the Associate Director of the Wisconsin Mime School in Spring Green, got a divorce, started a professional outreach theatre company in Milwaukee in 1974 (Friends Mime Theatre), was partially paralyzed in an auto accident, took over the company as Artistic/Producing Director in 1996--now called Milwaukee Public Theatre. Although the company ended its 45 year run in 2019, I am still at it, working with Quasimondo Physical Theatre, writing grant proposals for theatreworks and workshops to increase awareness of the plight of our pollinators (bee, butterflies, birds, bats, etc--facing 70% extinction rates! Also developing a clown character, Confusadora Spufatina, looking at the funny side of getting older...(Whew!--she makes me laugh!) Soo looking forward to seeing/sharing stories with you all! |

After graduation from WHS in 1961, I attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. I received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering in January, 1966. My UW classmate was our senior class president, Jerry Klinefelter. I then studied Sanitary Engineering at UW for a year. I married Nancy DuBois on January 28, 1967.We moved to Midland, Michigan, where I worked for Dow Chemical Company as a Waste Control Engineer. It’s interesting to note that the Midland plant of Dow is where Jerry worked for his career. After being laid off by Dow, I started work in October, 1969 for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a Public Health Engineer, working out of an office in Madison. Through the years, I continued to work in this field office and mostly worked in wastewater treatment. I visited many treatment plants in southern and southwestern Wisconsin. It was really interesting to see a lot of towns and villages, some of which I never heard of. Also, I learned which places NOT to have lunch. I retired on February 1. 2001. I’m proud to have been a part of the tremendous improvement in surface water quality that occurred during my career at DNR. Many DNR employees, municipal officials, treatment plant operators, industrial officials, and consulting engineers made this improvement happen and share the credit. My wife, Nancy, and I had two children, Grant and Amy. Unfortunately, Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1982 and died in 1985 after surgery and extensive chemotherapy. I live near Middleton, Wisconsin. I have three grandsons. Grant and his wife, Anne, have two boys, Andy, age 3 and Aaron, age one. Amy and her husband, Nick, live in Minneapolis with their son, Jack, who will be 4 in August. Grant is a high school guidance counselor at Lodi High School where Anne is a special ed teacher. Amy and Nick work for the Minnesota Department of Family Services. Both my kids were involved extensively in soccer and Grant continues his involvement as an assistant coach for the Lodi HS girl’s team. I am a longtime season ticket holder for UW football and have attended a number of bowl games including the 2011 Rose Bowl. I have been a paid tax preparer since my retirement, but now am an unpaid volunteer preparer for AARP’s VITA program. I’m also active in Middleton Outreach Ministry, a multi church program to assist people with needs for food and clothing and assistance with rides and chores. As a bus student from Sussex, my involvement in activities was somewhat limited at WHS. I was a member of AFS committee, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, an honorary math club. The last few months before graduation my family moved to a farm near Mapleton , WI( near Oconomowoc) so I remember driving every day to school. I remember attending an AFS carnival on April 15, 1961 and driving home in snow that ended up totaling 4”. I’m looking forward to our class reunion this summer, especially seeing classmates like Mike and Dan, who went to Sussex School in the same class. |

First I am very excited to attend our 50th reunion. I also did not know about our other reunions. I did attend our 10th, so I was elated to find our super 1961 web page. Thank you to all our class members who have given of their time in planning this reunion. Following graduation, I attended UW LaCrosse and graduated with a BS degree. I taught first grade one year in St. Paul MN, followed by 34 years teaching in Rochester MN. My parents retired in 1975 and moved to Minnesota to be closer to us and their only grandchild. Their move from Wisconsin ended our many visits back home. We did make a visit in the late 80’s to show our daughter where I grew up. She now calls the Chicago area home. John and I were married in 1967 at the Congregational Church in Waukesha. He was with IBM Rochester, thus my move to Rochester. Rochester was a great place to live and raise our daughter. John retired from IBM after 31 years, then the next 13 years with Seagate Technology in Shakopee, MN. The commute from Rochester made for some long days so we made the move to Savage. John retired in 2009, but I have enjoyed free time since 2001. |

Just like everyone else, I can not believe it is 50 years. There are times I don't even feel 50. My husband Jim and I are married 33 years and between us we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren and a very spoiled cock-a-poo. We live in a condo in New Berlin 6 minutes from the farm house I grew up in. Jim is retired from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and I am a retired Food Service Manager. We spend most of our time in New Berlin. We both enjoy golfing, playing cards and spending time with our family and friends. In the winter we spend 4 or 5 months in Arizona. We feel very fortunate to be "snowbirds". I am looking forward to our reunion. Thank you to the committee for all the work they have done. |
